Advisors & Leadership Team

Holly Wade


Holly Wade was a remarkable young lady, who accomplished much in her 14-years. She was a bright light to all around with her tremendous heart, joy, love and compassion for others, and her incredible sense of humor:) She was quite creative and talented. In her short life she was already a published writer, a news reporter and anchor on a Kids News Program, an agent-represented actress and model, and the inspiration for the creation of Young Writers' Academy LLC. On December 10, 2015, Holly was diagnosed with stage 4 Gliosarcoma - an aggressive and rare form of brain cancer. She courageously battled for 7-months, losing her fight on July 1, 2016. Before she passed, she worked with her mother on the mission of the Hands for Holly Fund, and took great joy at the prospect of helping others through her illness.

Courtney Purviance

Vice President, Board of Directors

Courtney worked as an Occupational Therapist for eight years in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, specializing in brain injury and cancer rehab.   The mother of two children stopped working outside of the home when her first child was a year old.  Courtney has remained active in the community assisting in her neighborhood rally for a cure.  She comes to us with a passion for children and their families.

Doug Derrington

Board of Directors

Doug’s career has centered on technology and financial services and most recently he served as Managing Director of Financial Crimes Solutions at Jack Henry and Associates.  Doug and his wife Janet have lived in Charlotte since 2001 with their three daughters, Ashley, Taylor and Brooke.  He received his BS in Finance at Miami University in Oxford, OH.  Doug lost an aunt to cancer and his father is a survivor, so he is passionate about our cause.

Kathleen Kullick

Board of Directors

Kelly Kullick is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian (RLD) at Carolinas Healthcare System specializing in enteral and parenteral nutrition and serving on both the Ethics and Pressure Ulcer Prevention Committees.  At St. Matthew Catholic Church, Kelly is a Eucharistic Minister of Holy Communion and an active member of the Family Assistance Ministry.  She trained her dog to become a Nationally Certified Therapy Dog and visits patients at Brightmore Assisted Living and Memory Care Facilities.  Kelly serves on the Ballantyne Country Club House and Tennis Committees and enjoys running, tennis, and fitness classes.  Kelly’s favorite and greatest role is wife, mother, and friend.  Kelly feels blessed to be a friend to Holly and her family and to help other families focus on their greatest blessings by relieving some of their burdens in even the slightest way through the Hands for Holly Fund.

Matt Thompson

Board of Directors

Matt was born and raised in Charlotte, where he attended Providence High School.  Matt also attended North Carolina State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Textile Management. He currently works for a local independent insurance agency and resides in Charlotte with his wife Morgan, their daughter, Smith, and their two dogs.  Matt lost three grandparents to cancer, and his father fought it as well.  This is a deeply important subject for him and any opportunity to help others who have had to go through it is something that he doesn’t take for granted.  He is extremely honored to be able to serve on the board of Hands For Holly. 

Dr. Elisa Levine

Medical Advisor, Advisory Board

Dr. Elissa Levine is a board certified pediatrician who has over 15 years experience in private practice.  After graduating from Princeton University, she attended Boston University School of Medicine where she developed a love of children.  Dr. Levine completed her pediatric residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL and then traveled to New Zealand for additional training in developmental pediatrics and emergency care.  Dr. Levine and her husband relocated to Charlotte in 2003.   She enjoys spending her days helping children and their families.   She uses her pediatric background to help schools implement health and nutrition curricula.  When not at work Dr. Levine cherishes time with her husband, Joshua, and their daughters, Talia and Sasha. 

Susie Purviance

Philanthropic Assistant

Susie Purviance is an ASHA-certified pediatric speech-language pathologist who received her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Georgia. She has been practicing for twenty years within K-12 public school settings and outpatient clinics in Georgia, South Carolina, New York, and North Carolina. In her free time, Susie enjoys spending time with her family, reading, staying active, and watching sports.

Christine Wade

Executive Director/Cofounder

Much dismayed by the lack of financial assistance offered to families fighting pediatric cancer, Ms. Wade worked with her daughter Holly to define the mission of the Hands for Holly Fund, and then assembled a team of professionals to help them develop and implement the non-profit organization. Christine's twenty years of experience in human resource management and program development within nonprofit and corporate sectors have assisted her with this undertaking. Christine received her B.S. in Psychology and completed credits toward a Master’s in Counseling; she also holds a PHR certification and she is a published editor. 

Melissa Hinman

Treasurer, Board of Directors

Melissa is a senior manager in KPMG’s Charlotte office. She has more than 18 years of experience in state and local tax (SALT) primarily focused on corporate and partnership income and franchise tax.

Melissa currently heads the firm’s Center of Excellence for RAR compliance based in Charlotte.

Melissa’s professional experience is focused on SALT income/franchise consulting and compliance services.  She has extensive experience in all aspects of the compliance life cycle including multi state return reviews, tax return preparation, tax technology and process improvement, estimate and extension calculations, RAR compliance, notice and controversy assistance, and tax provision support.

Robin Gardner

Board of Directors

Robin Gardner is a social worker at the St Jude Affiliate Clinic/Novant Health Hemby Children’s Hospital. She has 18 years of medical social work experience, with the last 7 years spent helping families of children battling cancer, Sickle Cell Disease and other bleeding disorders.   In her role, she works closely with many organizations and foundations whose mission is to reduce the emotional and financial stressors that an oncology diagnosis  inevitably brings.  She is the proud mother of two boys and has been active in the community, serving on boards at school and her local church. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology as well as a Masters of Social Work, both from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.   

Mario Mastrantoni

Board of Directors

Mario is the director of accounting policy for Wells Fargo and is based in Charlotte, NC.  Mario joined Wells Fargo through the Wachovia acquisition where he was the accounting policy manager responsible for capital markets activities in Wachovia’s Corporate and Investment Bank and Corporate Treasury. Prior to joining Wachovia, Mario held various controllership positions at GE Capital in Stamford, CT.   Prior to joining GE Capital, Mario was an assurance and a transaction services manager at PricewaterhouseCoopoers in Washington, DC.  Mario is a CPA in the State of New York and has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Siena College in Loundonville, NY.

Carl Carande

Strategic Advisor, Advisory Board

In his current role, Carl is responsible for helping to design and execute growth strategy, people initiatives and service-quality activities at KPMG. Carl also ensures that Advisory’s operational functions support and align with the business’s strategic goals, and he is deeply involved in the career and skills development of Advisory’s professionals. Most recently, Carl has been instrumental in expanding KPMG’s Advisory practice beyond its traditional service areas to include a new strategy division to compete with the country’s top strategy firms. In recognition of his efforts, Carl was named in 2013 as one of Consulting Magazine’s Top 25 Consultants for excellence in client service. Carl truly lives out the philosophy of being a “leader who serves.” He has been a supportive mentor to other professionals at all levels. He is known to lead by example, inspire people to high performance and generously give credit and recognition to those who have helped get the job done right.

Carlene Delorenzo

Operations Manager

After graduating from West Virginia University with a degree in accounting, Carlene worked for the Hearst Corporation as an accounting manager.  Carlene then took time off to raise her family.  While doing so she served on Ballantyne tennis committees, tennis boards and captained many tennis teams.  When the opportunity arose for her to help with the Hands for Holly Memorial fund, Carlene knew that this would be a great fulfillment of her newfound time since her son is in college.  Carlene comes to us with a wonderful desire to help families in need.

Jessica McGuire

Digital Marketing Coordinator

Jessica is a recent graduate from The University of Arizona School of Dance. Her background includes art direction and digital design, working with nonprofit organizations from coast to coast. She is currently working between Los Angeles and Tucson, AZ as a professional contemporary dancer, freelance digital marketer, and web designer.

Bill Wade

President, Board of Directors

Bill is a senior vice president in the International Banking Group at Wells Fargo and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.  A 20 year veteran of the company, Bill has held varied finance positions across numerous wholesale banking and capital markets businesses, including a 3 year overseas assignment in London, England.  Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Bill lived and worked in New York for Morgan Stanley and Citibank in their capital markets finance and controller organizations.  Bill received his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Long Island University- CW Post, and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance and Investments from Baruch College in New York, NY.    

Henri Nkuepo

Secretary, Board of Directors

Henri Nkuepo is a Risk Management Professional and an Assistant Vice President at Wells Fargo. He has a legal background and over 7 years of compliance, policy development, and risk management experience. Henri previously worked as a Senior Associate at Capital One and as an In-house Counsel at the World Bank Group in Washington, DC. 

Andrew Gerber

Board of Directors

Andrew is the Deputy General Counsel for Premier, Inc., a publicly traded healthcare improvement company based in Charlotte, NC.  He joined Premier at the time of its initial public offering in 2013 and is responsible for a broad range of legal matters including corporate governance, securities compliance and M&A activities.  Andrew started his legal career in 1993 at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, DC and was a partner at several international law firms from 1998 to 2013.  He is a member of the bars of North Carolina and Maryland.  Andrew earned a B.A. in Business Administration with a double major in Finance and Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.  He earned a J.D. from the University of Maryland and is a member of the Order of the Coif.

Rob Melton

Board of Directors

Rob is a husband to Donna and father to Evan & Alyson, Garrett and Anna Grace.  He is a Regional Team Lead at National Mortgage Insurance, responsible for sales production in the Carolinas. Rob is originally from Bradenton, FL and has called Charlotte home since 1989.  He received his BA in Religion at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN. 

Dori Cazorla

Marketing Advisor

Dori is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Business and Marketing. After graduating from college, Dori worked in marketing for a large food service company. While taking a pause in her career to raise her children, she tapped into her experience as a competitive figure skater by working as a part-time figure skating coach. As the mother of a child with special needs, Dori is a fierce advocate for people with IDD (intellectual and developmental disabilities). She is a certified tennis coach for the Mecklenburg County Special Olympics tennis program. In 2010, Dori established a year-round Special Olympics tennis program in South Charlotte.  She currently serves as the Program Director and has grown the program from  6 to 30+ tennis athletes and has enlisted hundreds of volunteers over the years. Dori has re-entered the workforce as a marketing professional and is currently the Marketing Director at Lincoln Derr, PLLC, a civil litigation law firm. 

Karen Mastrantoni

Volunteers Manager

Karen Mastrantoni attended Siena College and graduated with a B.S. in social work. Shen then attended the College of St. Rose and received a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. After many years as an educator with the public school system, Karen took time off to raise her three children. During her time at home, Karen volunteered within her HOA, on the PTA, within the Ballantyne Tennis committees, as a meet coordinator within Southeaster Gymnastics, as well as, an event volunteer with Beers and Burpees nonprofit organization. Karen's attention to detail, and organizational and people skills awake her well suited to oversee volunteers for Hands for Holly. Her passion for working with children and assisting families in need align well with the mission and vision of the Hands for Holly Memorial Fund.

Chrissy Kincheloe

Marketing Manager

Chrissy received her BA in Communications from Bluefield College and has over 15 years of marketing experience. Throughout her career she has led multiple corporate fundraising and donation initiatives in support of various causes throughout North Carolina and is excited to bring her passion for helping others to the Hands for Holly Fund. Originally from Virginia, Chrissy has lived in Charlotte since 2007. She is an avid book reader, a dance fitness instructor and mom to fur babies, Luke and Olsen (who are still very dedicated Panthers fans).
