Close to $1000 was raised at the First Annual CHMS Whiteout Basketball Event held on January 30th. The CHMS Boy's and Girl's basketball teams came up with the idea to have a "whiteout" basketball game to honor Holly Wade. The teams designed and sold white t-shirts donating all of the proceeds to the Hands for Holly Fund. Students promoted the event to the school and came out to the game in large numbers. In addition, Teens for Holly collected donations and sold Hands for Holly merchandise.
The packed gymnasium had an opportunity to hear Christine Wade, Holly's mom, speak about Holly and share the mission of the Hands for Holly Fund. " I am truly impressed with the student body for already, at such a young age, going outside of themselves and looking to the needs of the community and figuring out a way to use their time, talent, and treasures to give back", expressed Ms. Wade to the audience.
What an incredible group of "winners" both on and off the court!
